How often have we said this? How often have we looked to credentials, recognition, or popularity to rate someone? How often have we discounted or praised the message based purely on the messenger?
We should take great care here. God usually uses not the expert, trained and credentialed individual, but rather the lowly, meek and simple individual. He purposefully calls the lowly common man on purpose to show His power through the common man’s weakness. They said of the apostles, “we perceive that these are unlearned men”. Yet, they changed the world.
By contrast, Moses was raised in Pharaoh’s home, a man of privilege and position. Yet, God sent Moses into the lowly wilderness for 40 years to remove Egypt from him before God could use Moses.
Perhaps it makes sense to think the other way around! Instead of blindly trusting an individual based on letters behind the name, or years of study, or proper schools… Perhaps we should remember that God uses the lowly, meek and humble. To find God, to find truth and power, look there.
